HDPE plastic — high-density polyethylene — is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic manufactured from ethylene monomers polymerized at high density to produce a tough, lightweight material. Known for its excellent chemical resistance and near-zero moisture absorption, HDPE material is a first-choice engineering thermoplastic wherever corrosion, wet environments, or aggressive media are a concern.

HDPE combines strong impact resistance with good abrasion resistance and consistent dimensional stability, making it reliable in applications that see repeated mechanical stress. Fabrication. HDPE machines cleanly using standard tooling — sawing, routing, drilling, and turning all produce good results. It does not require pre-drying before machining, and its near-zero moisture uptake means parts hold size after fabrication. HDPE can be welded using hot-gas or extrusion welding techniques for tank and liner construction.
