PA6 Sheet — Thicknesses, Sizes & Stock Forms
PA6 sheet is flat plate stock produced from Polyamide 6 (Nylon 6). Its combination of high mechanical strength, toughness, and wear resistance makes it well suited for machined wear surfaces, structural panels, slide plates, and industrial components where flat stock geometry is required.
At a glance:
- Thickness range: 0.125" to 4.0"
- Standard sheet sizes: 24" × 48" and 48" × 96"
- Thickness tolerance: ±10% (typical)
- Material: Polyamide 6 (PA6, Nylon 6) — extruded
- Color: Natural (off-white/ivory)

Typical Applications
PA6 sheet is used in a wide range of machined and fabricated components:
- Wear slide plates — machine tool guides and conveyor slide surfaces
- Structural panels — lightweight, load-bearing replacements for metal plate
- Jigs and fixtures — machinable stock for production tooling
- Electrical insulating panels — dielectric strength of 635 V/mil supports insulation use
- Material handling liners — chute liners, hopper liners, and wear pads
Machining PA6 Sheet
PA6 sheet is easily machined with conventional woodworking or metalworking equipment. Carbide-tipped saw blades and router bits produce clean edges. Drilling requires sharp bits and controlled feed to prevent melting or delamination. For closer tolerances, allow material to equilibrate to ambient conditions before final machining, as nylon absorbs moisture and can expand slightly.
